This recognition from the University of A Coruña celebrates his professional career. Jim Graña holds a degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences from UDC, an academic background closely linked to the sector in which we operate.

Four alumni, four different career paths

The first Alumni UDC Awards have recognised four alumni for their achievements across different fields. Alongside Jim Graña, the award recipients were:

• Sofía Toro, Alumni Social Commitment Award. A graduate in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences, she won an Olympic gold medal in sailing at the London 2012 Olympic Games and currently serves as manager of the Galician Cluster for the Sports and Wellbeing Industry.
• María Soledad “Marisol” Soengas González, Alumni Research Award. A Biology graduate and honorary doctorate recipient from UDC, she leads the Melanoma Group at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO).
• Óscar García Maceiras, Alumni Career Achievement Award. A Law graduate from UDC, he is a State Attorney and has served as CEO of Inditex since 2021.

Sharing this first edition with professionals from such diverse backgrounds makes this recognition even more special for us.
